Drivers Lab Academy
How do you make the right move from karting into single-seaters / GT?
The Academy is designed primarily for karting drivers who are preparing their first Formula or GT test, or early car-racing drivers who need guidance building the foundations before their first full championship.
Who Is This For?
Welcome To
Drivers Lab
Drivers Lab was founded in Dubai in 2023 by professional racing drivers Dan Wells and Oscar Lee with a shared vision: to revolutionise the way drivers prepare, train and develop.
Combining factory-grade simulator technology, expert coaching, data-based performance analysis and cognitive training within one dedicated environment, Drivers Lab allows drivers to train with the structure and precision traditionally associated with professional race teams. For our Academy drivers, Drivers Lab becomes the central performance hub connecting simulator preparation, real-world testing and ongoing driver development.
Discover the System
Each programme is built around the driver. No fixed cohorts, no generic training schedules.
All aspects are targeted towards the driver’s next objective, with 1-to-1 access to the coaches, engineers and performance specialists throughout their development.
We sit down with parents and the driver in a launch meeting to establish goals, budget, schedule, and priorities.
01 - Build the Roadmap
A concentrated development block at Drivers Lab Dubai to build the foundation for the driver’s upcoming test days. We’ll design a schedule to prepare the driver for the specific car, circuit, and performance targets. At the end of the development block, the driver will have a reference that he or she can brings to the track.
02 - Develop at Drivers Lab
Our Global Track Modules allow drivers to have a wide variety of choice in terms of where they want to carry out the test days. The module includes team and circuit booking, on-track coaching, data analysis, accommodation and transport coordination, etc.
03 - Take It to The Track
After all test, telemetry, onboard footage, engineer feedback and coach observations return to the expert coaches at Drivers Lab. The next simulator programme is then adapted around what happened in the real car.
04 - Bring the Data Back
Development shouldn’t stop at home. We’ll arrange a simulator configured specifically for their development programme, delivered and professionally installed at home to allow continuous development work between test days and race weekends.

Every Academy programme is bespoke. Costs can vary significantly depending on factors such as the number of test days, car category, circuit location, coaching requirements and overall development plan. There is no fixed duration. Most drivers begin with an intensive 2-week development block at Drivers Lab before progressing into real-world testing and ongoing simulator work. From there, the programme can continue across multiple testing cycles depending on the driver's goals and racing calendar.
